Date and time
The race, agonistic and non competitive, will take place on Sunday 15 December 2019 on the distance measured by AIMS-IAAF and Fidal, with start at 9.00 am.
Participation and Registration
The athletes born in 1999 or prior can participate in the CETILAR MARATONA DI PISA marathon if they are in possession of:
– FIDAL membership card
– A membership card of Foreign Federation Clubs recognized by IAAF
– Athletes having a FIDAL Runcard and a medical certificate for competitive athletics valid at the date Marathon 2019
– Foreign national athletes don’t have IAFF membership card, insured by the organization signing of waiver form, can partecipate in non competitive mode, according to the current regulations. These athletes will enjoy all the srvices but they will be excluded from the ranking of winners and from any kind of prizes (in money or in kind).
Documents needed for registration:
– registration form properly filled (online thru www.sdam.net or hard copy downloaded from web site www.maratonadipisa.com
– payment of the fee indicated in www.mysdam.net and/or on the Entry form at the date of registration
– a copy of FIDAL membership card; RunCard along with a medical certificate for competitive athletics, a copy of membership card of foreign Federation Club recognized by IAAF or a medical certificate (Health Form) required by the organization like during the past editions for athletes not in possession of a membership card of any club
How to register:
– online thru web site www.sdam.net – payment with a credit card or paypal
– via fax or email: upon completion of an Entry Form downloaded from the web site www.maratonadipisa.com, attach (mandatory) a proof of bank payment, valid medical certificate and/or a club membership card
– at registration points spread in Italy (PisaMarathon Points) with a cash payment by the cut off dates established. The updated list of PisaMarathon Points can be found from www.maratonadipisa.com
The date of payment validates the registration and relative fee.
Athletes NOT PROPERLY REGISTERED and/or not having valid medical certificates, club membership cards or proof of payment are not allowed to participate.
Marathon Fees 2018: can be seen on the hard copy of an Entry Form or directly on the web site www.mysdam.net A 5,00 euro chip deposit must be added to the registration fees indicated at the date of registration unless you have a Champion chip of your own
The organization may temporarily suspend or close earlier the registrations in case of reaching the maximum limit of 4,500 participants for marathon and half marathon in order to guarantee all adequate services. In any case a notification will be published on the web site www.maratonadipisa.com

- Pisa Half Marathon ”La Pisanina” (competitive of 21,097km)
- Santa Claus Run “Corsa dei Babbi Natale” (fun run of 3, 7 e 14km)
Refunding entry fees due to unavailability to attend
In case of impossibility to participate the entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the athletes, who will not be able to participate, will be offered two alternative options to be notified to the organization no later than 16 December 2018:
1. Transfer the registration to PisaMarathon 2018 by paying a surcharge of €10,00 for admin expenses at the time of a new registration (in 2018 to confirm the participation and acceptance of the new regulation by 31 October 2018).
The option to transfer the registration to the next year edition can be used only once.
No additional reductions in the registration fee can be used in conjunction with transfer of the registration to the edition 2018.
2. Transfer the registration to another person by paying a surcharge of €10,00 for admin expenses to confirm changes by email correspondence.
The person transferring the registration to 2018 or the person replacing another must fill a new entry form to include all personal data, information as to membership card and providing a medical certificate. He will be assigned a new bib number still available with consequent start order.
The option to transfer the registration to another person can be used only in the edition 2018 and in any case only once. No additional reductions in the registration fee can be used in conjunction with transferring of registration to another person.
In case of cancellation of the event due to “force majeure” reasons, the registrations can be transferred to successive years, no more than 3 editions, pending confirmation of attendance and acceptance of the regulation of the selected year. It is possible to transfer the registration to another person as indicated above by paying a supplement of 15,00 euro.
Upon completion of the registration on line an email will be sent by SDAM to confirm the acceptance of the registration.
In case of incomplete information received, the second request will be sent by email requesting missing documents (copies of payments, valid FIDAL membership card, updated medical certificates for competitive athletics, etc.) in order to finalize the registration.
The confirmation letters will be sent only by email.
The confirmation letter along with an ID card will be sufficient to pick-up the bib number and goody bag from Expo Marathon Village unless any additional documents were requested.
Race Number and goody bag Pick-up
Athletes can pick-up their bib numbers and bags on Friday 15 December or Saturday 16 December 2018 starting from 14.00 hrs pm until 20.00 hrs pm (Friday) and 10.00 hrs am until 20.00 hrs pm (Saturday) from Expo Marathon Village located in CUS Sports Fields in Via Chiarugi, Pisa.
For pick-up of bib numbers it is necessary to show an ID document, the confirmation letter received also on smartphone or tablet and possible additional documents indicated in the confirmation letter (membership card, Run Card or updated medical certificate).
It is possible to collect a bib number and bag for only ONE more participant by presenting a power of attorney, a copy of ID card and the confirmation letter of the other person.
All participants will receive a goody bag, refreshments, sponge stations, medical support, finisher medal, a diploma that can be downloaded online and their official time will be indicated in arrival list. According to current regulations only athletes in possession of FIDAL membership card and foreign athletes having a membership card of Foreign Athletics Federations IAAF will qualify for final monetary awards.
All participants must be in the start area in via Bonanno Pisano by 08.00 hrs am.
The start will take place at 09.00 hrs am, but there might be a few minutes delay or earlier start due to television requirements.
Entrance to the start corrals will be allowed between 08.00 and 08.30 hrs am. Late athletes will be invited to enter the last corral at the end of the race.
All participants must be ready to enter the start corrals by 08.45 hrs am.
It is not allowed to enter a corral different from the one indicated by the bib number. Once inside the corral the participants cannot exit any more.
Anyway, starting is allowed from a corral behind the designated one.
There might be some changes in starting hours due to safety reasons and/or requirements of police officials.
The race number is personal and you cannot exchange it with other participants otherwise you can be disqualified.
The race number must be fully visible all times and it must be attached on the front of your running shirt. It cannot be covered in any way by pictures or writings or you will risk disqualification.
The time limit to finish the 42,195 km is 6 hours and 30 minutes. The time limit to cross the checkpoint of the half marathon (21,097 km) is 3 hours and 15 minutes. The time limit to cross the checkpoint of 30 km is 4 hours and 35 minutes. The athletes who are not able to maintain the pace of 8’30 minutes per km might be asked to move to the sidewalks following the highway code.
Timing and chip
Your official time will be recorded by SDAM ChampionChip microchip timing system that will also record your effective (real) time.
The chip is strictly personal and it cannot be exchanged with anybody.
The recording of “Real time” starts when you cross the starting line and it ends when you cross the finish line. The system also records the intermediate times of all athletes at 10 km – 21,097 km – 30 km checkpoints and there will be additional surprise checkpoints to insure an accurate order of arrival.
The chip cannot be removed for any reason thus risking to be excluded from the order of arrival. NO CHIP NO TIME!
The chips will be returned to our staff assistants at the finish line to the boxes marked for chip return. They will collect the chips also from the athletes who did not start the race. Athletes who will interrupt the race can return the chip also to the drivers of recovery vehicles.
NOTE: The chip has been registered only for PisaMarathon 2018 and it can be utilized only for this purpose. The organization will be charged € 20 for each missing chip. All chips withdrawn and not used due to unavailability to participate or interruption of the race should be mailed by the athletes to the organization or directly to SDAM within 15 days after the marathon.
Bags Drop Off
There will be a bag drop off point located near the Leaning Tower (at arrival) approx. 300 m distant from the start area. The service will be available starting 07.00 hrs am and the area is organized by race numbers split in groups. Staff volunteers will place your bag in designated areas. The sticker with your race number, received at Expo, must be affixed on the bag. The drop off point will close at 08.30 hrs.
Showers and changing rooms (and shuttle service)
The shower facilities and changing rooms will be available between 06.00 hrs and 08.30 hrs am (and opening again from 10.00 hrs am until 16.00 hrs pm) at CUS Pisa in Via F. Chiarugi where parking space is also available. There will be shuttle bus service available between the arrival area (approx. 400 from the start) and and shower facitilies.
Winner Podium – Only the first three men and the first three women arrived will be awarded. No prizes are foreseen for the age categories.
Rights for image
With the registration in the 19th Pisa Marathon, athlete authorizes free utilization of the pictures, photos and/or motion pictures, taken during the participation in Pisamarathon. This authorization has no time limits and the pictures and motion pictures can be used worldwide for promotion and advertising of the event. This agreement also authorizes the organization to release these rights to its commercial and institutional partners to be used within this agreement.
Statement of responsibility
With his/her signature the athlete states to know and accept the regulation and rules of the 19th Pisa Marathon, published on the web site www.maratonadipisa.com . Under his own responsibility the athlete swears having made true statements (art. 2 law 04/01/1968 no. 15 as modified by art. 3 comma 10 law 15/05/1997 n°127) and he also releases the organization officials of all responsibilities, both civil and penal, for any personal injuries or material damages that he may have caused.
Pisa Marathon Directory Staff is authorized to change this regulation any time in order to improve proceeding of the race. The athletes registered to the race will be promptly notified of potential changes in the services, places and time tables by email or all changes will be published on the web site www.maratonadipisa.com the only official source of information.

06.00 hrs am – opening of changing rooms at sports field CUS Pisa in via F.Chiarugi (car parking area ). Closing of the change rooms and showers at 16.00 hrs pm
06,00 hrs am – starting of the shuttle service between CUS Pisa sports field and Via Contessa Matilde c/o ITIS (arrival area located 300 m from the start area)
08.00 hrs am – opening of the start cages
08,30 hrs am – End of bags drop off c/o ITIS and caging of the start area
08.45 hrs am – closure of the cages
09,00 hrs am – Start of Marathon and Half Marathon
Stracittadina (Happy Christmas Family Run) fun run of 3, 7 e 14km will follow right after the Half Marathon
10,00 hrs am – First Half Marathon runners will arrive
10,30 hrs am – Half Marathon Award ceremony will start
10.30 hrs am – Re-opening of the changing rooms and showers and shuttle service to transport the athletes from Via Contessa Matilde (after the arrival) to CUS Pisa (for showers and pick-up of the car) and vice versa .
Approx. 11.10 hrs am – Arrival of first marathon runners
11.30 hrs am – Award ceremony for Marathon runners and winners of side events
15.30 hrs pm – Expiration of the time limit of 6 hours and 30 minutes and closure of the event
16.00 hrs pm – Closure of the changing rooms and showers at CUS Pisa sports field.
General route information .
The bags can be dropped off near the start area and they will be picked-up after the arrival.
The route, that the athlets will run, has been measured by FIDAL and AIMS-IAAF (start, riversides, district of Porta a Mara, Location La Vettola, San Piero a Grado, via Bigattiera, Tirrenia, Marina di Pisa, Viale d’Annunzio, Porta a Mare, Bridge of Cittadella, via Roma, via Santa Maria and Piazza del Duomo).
There will be refreshment points and sponge stations every 5 km.
Only refreshments provided by the organization and those placed by the athletes on the tables made available by the organization staff at the start can be used during the race. An athlete who receives assistance and liquid or solid refreshments by unauthorized persons along the route may be disqualified. For safety reasons any person without an official race number (walking, by bicycle or by other means) will be directed to leave the course immediately. If necessary staff personnel can request assistance from local police officers to remove unauthorized individuals who could be reported for fraud in sports . The organization cannot be held liable for potential damages or injuries to unauthorized persons found in the race course without a race number.
The race course is entirely paved.
The course progress is marked at every km.
Timing and final order of arrival are managed by Champion chip and Italian Timers Federation of Pisa Section.
Monetary Awards Marathon
There will be an Additional Bonus in the amount of 1.000,00 euro only for the first man and the first woman who beats the record of the event 2h15’ (men) and 2h40’ (women)
The athletes who are only possessors of the Run Card are not eligible for above listed monetary awards.
Any complaint must be made in accordance with the FIDAL and R.T.I rules.
