The Pisanina Mezza Maratona is a UISP competition; agonistic and non-competitive sport tourism.

Participation and Registration

Athletes born in 2005 and previous years can participate in the La Pisanina Mezza Maratona 2023:

– FIDAL and Runcard Fidal members with a copy of a valid medical certificate for ‘athletics’ competitive activity;

– athletes registered with a Sports Promotion Body (Athletics / Running section) in possession of a valid medical certificate of competitive athletic fitness for athletics;

– foreigners registered for a foreign Federation recognized by the IAAF or foreigners who are not registered with a copy of a medical certificate or foreigners who are not registered without a medical certificate for tourism-sporting purposes after completing the Liability Waiver and insured by the organization upon acceptance of the competition regulations. These athletes will participate in a non-competitive mode.

Participation in any capacity of NOT REGISTERED athletes or without the receipt of payment is not allowed.

Rates 2023: available on www.maratonadipisa.com. 

The organization reserves the right to temporarily suspend, if not close early, registrations to reach the maximum limit to guarantee all services. Any communication will be published on the website www.maratonadipisa.com.

Non-participation and refund of participation fees

In case of non-participation in the race, the registration fees are in no case refundable.

However, the athlete unable to participate in the race will be offered two alternatives to be communicated to the organization strictly by 12 December 2023:

1. to transfer registration to the 2024 edition upon payment of a supplement of € 10.00 for administrative rights) to

2. to transfer the registration to another person upon payment of a supplement of € 10.00 for secretarial rights and return of the confirmation email received.

In the event of cancellation of the event due to force majeure, the registrations may be transferred to subsequent years, no later than 3 editions

Race bib and race packs collection

The athlete can collect their bib on Saturday 16 from 10.00 to 22.00 at the Expo Maratona Village.

Services

All members will be entitled to the race pack, refreshments, sponging, health care, finisher medal, diploma downloadable online, and timekeeping with their order of arrival. The first 3 absolute men and the first 3 absolute women will be awarded, not in cash.

Departure

The meeting in the starting area is scheduled for 08.00 in Largo Cocco Griffi.

The departure is at 9.00.

Entrance to the pits is allowed from 8.00 am to 8.45 am. Latecomers will be invited to start in the last cage at the end of the race.

All athletes must be ready and inside the starting cages by 8.45 am.

It will not be allowed to enter a starting grid other than that indicated on the race bib. Once in their cage, athletes will no longer be able to leave it.

Instead, it will be allowed to start from a grid further back than the one assigned.

Timetables may change according to any provisions of the security and police bodies.

Bib Race

The race bib is personal and it is forbidden to exchange it with other competitors, under penalty of disqualification.

The bib must be attached to the jersey with which you are competing, in front and in a clearly visible way. Under no circumstances can the writings be hidden, under the penalty of disqualification.

Time limit

The time limit to complete the 21,097 km is set at 6 hours and 30 minutes. Athletes who run at more than 8’30 minutes per km will be required to observe the rules of the highway code.

Timing and chip

The timing service will be carried out by means of a MyLaps microchip which allows you to record the actual time.

The “Real-time” will begin with the passage on the starting line and will end with the passage on the finish line. The rankings will be made official after validation by the Technical Delegate Judge / Appeal Judge.

Bag deposit

Bags will be deposited in the Via Duomo in the spaces set up for this service, divided into bib groups starting at 07.00. The special bag will be deposited inside the pre-established areas by the service staff. It is mandatory to affix the sticker with your bib number delivered to the Expo on the bag. Bag Depot closes at 8.30.

Ranking and awards

The first 3 absolute men and the first 3 absolute women classified according to the official time will be called to the podium and awarded. The prizes are not in cash. There are no awards and prizes for the categories.

The rankings will follow real-time except for the absolute top 5 (separately male and female). For the first 5, the official order of arrival is considered. Real-time will follow at the bottom of the rankings of the top 5.

Image rights and authorization to process personal data

By signing the registration form for the Maratona di Pisa and  la Pisanina Half Marathon, the athlete, from now on, expressly authorizes the organization to use free images, still and/or moving, portraying his own person and taken on the occasion of his participation in the Half Marathon. This authorization for the use of one’s own image must be understood as granted indefinitely and without territorial limits throughout the world, for use in various publications and films, including, by way of example and not limited to, promotional materials and/or advertising and made on all media.

The organization may also transfer the rights of use provided for in this regulation to third parties, its institutional and commercial partners.

If the athlete has expressed his consent on the registration form, he may also receive information of a nature
promotional both by the association and by its commercial partners.

Declaration of responsibility

By signing the registration form, the athlete declares to know and accept the rules of the 16th Half Marathon of Pisa La Pisanina, published on the website www.maratonadipisa.com. He also expressly declares under his own responsibility, not only to have declared the truth (art.2 law 04/01/1968 n ° 15 as modified by art.3 paragraph 10 law 15/05/1997 n ° 127) but to exempt the organizers from any liability, both civil and criminal, for damage to persons and/or things caused by him or derived from him.

Final warnings

The Organization of the Maratona di Pisa and la Pisanina Half Marathon reserves the right to integrate and update these regulations at any time, subject to agreement with the CR and the National Fidal, in order to ensure a better running of the event, especially in concomitance. with other collateral events to what is regulated above to ensure the coexistence of all participants and/or following provisions of the authorities relating to public order. Any changes to services, places, and times will be appropriately communicated to registered athletes via the confirmation email or will be reported on the website www.maratonadipisa.com the only true official source.

Saturday 16 December

10.00 – 22.00 – Marathon Expo opening. Distribution of bibs, chips, programs, and race pack. Accreditations and passes for the press, guests, and employees. Information area, reception, and hospitality. Program and conferences.

Sunday 17th December

7.00 am – baggage collection opening in via Duomo. Closing at 16.00

8.00 – opening of cages for participants

8.30 am – deadline for baggage delivery and last crating in the departure area.

8.45 am – closing of the cages

9.00 am – Race start

11.30 am – Start of the Maratona di Pisa awards ceremony

3.30 pm – Expiry time limit of 6 hours and 30 minutes closing of the event.

General information about the route

The athletes will follow the path measured by Fidal and AIMS-IAAF (start, Lungarni, Porta a Mare district, La Vettola, San Piero a Grado, via Bigattiera, Tirrenia, Marina di Pisa, Viale d’Annunzio, Porta a Mare, Ponte della Cittadella, via Roma, via Santa Maria and Piazza del Duomo). Refreshments every 5 km. It is strictly forbidden to be assisted along the route by acquaintances with liquid or solid refreshments other than those made available by the organizers and/or not regularly placed on the tables made available to the Organization under penalty of disqualification of the athlete! The organization prohibits the presence inside the route of people without a bib (on foot, by bicycle, or by other means) and may use the traffic and municipal police authorities for the expulsion from the route and any report (for fraud, scam sports, or risk of the safety of regular participants). The organization is not to be held responsible in any way, in the event of damage and injuries, to people who intrude illegally on the route (without a bib, bicycle, or other). Entirely paved path.
