Cetilar® Maratona di Pisa: signed the official collaboration agreement with the Antiche Navi di Pisa Museum

The Marathon launches the initiative “Pisan for a Day” in order to strengthen the winning pairing of sporting excellence and culture

The Maratona di Pisa has always been synonymous with sport and culture, race and art, with the aim of making sports an important incentive to promote the cultural heritage of the territory.

Keeping this mind, on Friday 13 September, during a press conference, 1063AD, the sports society organizer the Cetilar Maratona di Pisa, and the Archaeological Cooperative, which manages the Antiche Navi di Pisa Museum, signed an official agreement of cultural collaboration.

On the base of this agreement, Simone Ferrisi, President of 1063AD, Sergio Costanzo, organizer of the Marathon, Dr. Marcella Vannozzi, head of the Cooperative’s cultural tourism and Dr. Andrea Camilli, scientific director of the restoration and project manager for the Superintendence of Fine Arts and Landscape of Pisa and Livorno, sat at the same table to offer to all participants of this Marathon edition, with a companion, a 50% reduction on the entrance ticket to the Museum during the whole weekend of the competition (from Friday 13 to Sunday 15).

“The launch of the initiative has already started abroad – said Sergio Costanzo – and presenting it today is an opportunity to announce the slogan of this edition of Cetilar Maratona di Pisa, which will be” Pisan for a day “.

The agreement with the Museo delle Navi is part of a process that has already involved important cultural institutions of the city in the past editions and that, for this year’s competition, it will allow runners to visit the museums benefiting from the same tariff of residents.

A choice supported by the Archeology Cooperative which manages the Museum with the aim to make known the museum outside its own boundaries.
Cetilar Maratona of Pisa represents, in this sense, an important showcase, able to attract the interest of athletes from around the world, to whom, looking to the future, it is strategic to offer a unique experience of racing and knowledge.
